EWING, NJ … Julianna White, a senior at The College of New Jersey, won the Miss New Jersey USA pageant and was crowned Miss New Jersey USA 2011 on Oct. 2, 2010.
The competition took place at the Hilton Hotel in Parsippany from Oct. 1 – Oct. 3.
White, a Communication Studies major, competed against 115 other contestants, and will now have the opportunity to move on to the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
“My experience was amazing – I met tons of new friends over the pageant weekend and enjoyed the rehearsals and time on stage,” White said.
White has a history of competing in pageants, her first time being crowned Miss NJ Teen USA in 2006.
“I was extremely nervous because a Miss NJ Teen USA hasn’t come back to win Miss NJ USA since the 90s and I didn’t know if I would be the one to break the ‘curse,’” White said.
White is a sister of the Zeta Tau Alpha sorority and a member of All College Theater, and will start preparing for Miss USA.
“New Jersey has never won Miss USA, so that is my ultimate goal,” she said. “I’m working with an amazing team to get prepared. Also, I will be traveling the state attending appearances and events with different organizations and philanthropies.”
