Boheme Opera NJ is offering a free final dress rehearsal performance open to TCNJ students (with a valid student ID) of Charles Gounod’s “Faust” on April 18th at 7:00pm at the Kendall Main Stage Theatre. Based loosely on the three-part Goethe tragedy of the same name, an aging old scholar makes a desperate pact with the devil to pursue never-experienced youthful love. As the devil Mephistopheles manipulates the ensuing events, love turns to tragic sadness for Faust and the beautiful Marguerite in the midst of Gounod’s spectacular musical score. This production has something for everyone, particularly in the area of arts and communication. The performance will feature virtual sets and animation, integrating live theater with HD technology. The production features original design components, as well as a modern version of the characters and setting. “Faust” is one of opera’s greatest French works, and will be sung in French with English supertitles.
