TCNJ Foundation approves new mission statement

The College of New Jersey Foundation recently reaffirmed its support of the college by approving a revised mission statement that underscores the significance of philanthropic support to the institution.

“The Foundation Board wanted to reassert its commitment to ensuring TCNJ has the philanthropic support necessary to be an exemplar of public higher education,” says John P. Donohue, executive director. “Our goals tightly align with college goals and objectives, and they emphasize support for our students, faculty, and community and the critical importance of strong stewardship and accountability to our donors.”

Donohue also noted that over the past several years, the foundation has experienced outstanding success, including having doubled its assets.

TCNJ Foundation Mission Statement
(approved on March 24, 2016):

The College of New Jersey Foundation encourages and receives philanthropic support to expand access to and enhance the outstanding educational and community service opportunities provided to students at The College of New Jersey. The foundation carries out its mission by establishing funds for student support, learning experiences, academic enrichment and capital improvement. By promoting a culture of philanthropy, and through prudent investment, stewardship and accountability to donors and the community, the foundation advances the college’s mission and reputation as a nationally recognized public institution.
