On Wednesday, October 2, 2019, Hallie Jackson, NBC News Chief White House Correspondent and host of MSNBC Live with Hallie Jackson will speak at TCNJ. Jackson will be interviewed by Maurice L. Hall, Ph.D., Dean and professor of communication at the Schools of Arts and Communications.
The public program, TCNJ’s version of Inside the Actors Studio, moderated by Dean Hall, will take place at 4 p.m. on campus in the Mayo Concert Hall. Dr. Hall, an expert in facilitating dialogue, will pose questions to Jackson and then the audience will also be able to ask questions. Those in attendance will see some of Jackson’s work prior to the discussion.
Jackson’s reports air on “NBC Nightly News with Lester Holt,” “TODAY,” “Meet the Press,” and NBCNews.com. She hosts the 10 a.m. hour of “MSNBC Live.”
An accomplished reporter, Jackson covered the 2016 Republican primary and the rise of President-elect Donald Trump. Her coverage broke election stories and she conducted exclusive interviews with Republican Presidential Candidates including Donald Trump, Senator Ted Cruz, Senator Marco Rubio and Ben Carson.
Jackson had previously reported from NBC News’ Los Angeles bureau and was previously a national correspondent for Hearst Television based in Washington, DC and reporting for 26 affiliate stations. Jackson also worked for WFSB-TV in Hartford, Conn. and as a general assignment reporter for WBOC-TV in Maryland.
Jackson grew up in nearby Yardley, Pennsylvania and graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in political science from The Johns Hopkins University.
Jackson’s campus visit was arranged by Janice Selinger. Selinger is the Vice Chairman of the Foundation of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, Adjunct Communication Studies Professor at TCNJ and current Executive Director of the Crossroads of the American Revolution.
