EWING, N.J. – TCNJ Athletics officially unveiled its Hall of Champions project in a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday afternoon.
The expansive project includes a litany of renovations to Packer Hall, shining a spotlight on the college's rich tradition of success and providing a touchstone for fans, visitors, and former and current student-athletes alike to celebrate its unique place in the history of college athletics.
"The TCNJ Athletics Hall of Champions is a beautiful renovation dedicated to celebrating our rich Athletics history," said Executive Director of Athletics Amanda DeMartino. "We wanted to showcase our many accomplishments to properly honor our athletics alumni as well as our past coaches and staff. It's inspiring for our current student-athletes and coaches to walk through the halls of Packer now designed and branded to honor those who came before us."
The Hall of Champions project comprises a gleaming upgrade to a number of Packer Hall spaces. Complete with full environmental branding, the hallway now hosts a timeline of some of the most important athletic achievements in college history, photos of all 39 team national champions and 50 individual national champions, a memorabilia wall and more, all made brighter by a brand-new skylight and LED lighting.
All 39 of the college's national championship trophies and all 89 of its Final Four trophies are housed in new cases, and digital touchscreens feature a searchable list of every All-NJAC individual, All-American individual, and conference and national championship teams in the history of Trenton State and TCNJ athletics.
Current student-athletes will now be able to take advantage of an upgraded weight room boasting 14 brand-new racks, reinforced flooring, a full technology package with six TV screens and full audio, and new cardio and rehab equipment.
"The renovation," DeMartino added, "also includes a fully renovated athletics weight room and student-athlete lounge to inspire our current teams to continue the tradition of hard work and excellence both on and off the playing field."
