Meghan Sooy: Promoting disability as diversity

Meghan Sooy, director of disability support services, is TCNJ’s advocate for students with disabilities. But on Friday, Oct. 4, she got to play a different kind of leadership role—that of grand marshal of the 3rd Annual NJ Disability Pride Parade in Trenton.

The student school board member

Sophomore Brandon Pugh, a political science major, is working to improve the school system from which he graduated just two years ago.

Still ‘here’ for NJ

Residents across the Garden State are still recovering and rebuilding from the devastation of Hurricane Sandy. Through
the Here for Home initiative, TCNJ’s campus community is lending a hand.

TCNJ to host information session to assist local companies looking to do business with the College

In an effort to increase the participation of local businesses in The College of New Jersey’s procurement of goods and services, the College is hosting an Information Session and Breakfast at which owners of Trenton- and Ewing-based small businesses can gain a better understanding of TCNJ’s purchasing procedures. The event will take place on March 21, from 8 to 11 a.m., in room 212 of the Education Building.

A family of educators

Bob (’69) and Annette (nee Zamborsky, ’70) Fitzsimmons found more than love at the College—they also developed a lifelong passion for education. In June 2011, the two alums and their daughter, Mara Lamond ’97, opened the Ewing Community Preschool on Pennington Road, across from TCNJ’s main entrance.
